Be Coachable: Why coaching matters for your fitness

Here at our gym, we’re all about coaching. We’re not just here to cheer you on, though there’s plenty of that, too. We’re here to help you get better. That’s what makes us different from most other gyms. If you’re here, you’re going to get coaching. We’re going to focus on your form, help you improve, and make sure you’re moving safely. That’s because we’re invested in you.

The Never-Ending Road of Improvement

Improvement is a journey, and every single one of us is on it. I’ve been working out and doing CrossFit for almost 20 years now, and even though I’d say I move pretty well, I still get feedback from our coaches. And I’m grateful for it! They’re not telling me what to fix because they like hearing themselves talk; they’re helping me become better and safer. The same goes for you. No matter where you’re starting from, there’s always room to grow, to get stronger, and to move better. Improvement doesn’t just stop once you reach a certain level—there’s always another level, always another way to keep getting better.

Moving well is a huge part of staying safe, which is why we’re so focused on it. So if you hear a lot of cues during a workout, it’s not because we want to humor ourselves by telling you what to do. We’re looking out for you, helping you move the best you can so you can keep going strong without injury.

(Though, I’ll admit I do like adding a few burpees to humor myself but you get the idea!)

Why We Do Group Coaching

Our approach is like group personal training. Let’s be real—personal training, with its $80–$120 per session price tag, is just not realistic for most people. Our group model lets us bring that same quality of coaching to more people, at a price that doesn’t add up to thousands each month. Sure, it’s not as customized as one-on-one, but it’s broad and effective, and it works.

We’re here to bring you the benefits of great coaching in a way that’s accessible, and in a setting where you’re surrounded by others who are also working hard and getting better. So to be able to get coached and your form held accountable for around $10 bucks per session is a massive deal.

How to Make the Most of It? Be Coachable!

The key to getting the most out of what we do is to just Be coachable. That means showing up ready to hear feedback, being open to adjustments, and knowing that no matter how far you’ve come, there’s always another step forward. We’re here to help, to guide, and to push you so you can live your best life inside and outside the gym.

We’re here to make sure you’re getting better and more fit, SAFELY.
