TOUGH LOVE:
Let’s get real for a minute. If you’re unhappy with where you are—whether it’s with your health, fitness, or mindset—then it’s time to stop blaming your circumstances and start taking responsibility. Because here’s the hard truth: you are exactly where your choices have led you.
Does that sting? It should. Sometimes, we all need a wake-up call. The only way out of feeling stuck is to own your situation and take action. Excuses aren’t going to cut it anymore.
Excuses Are Just Lies You Tell Yourself
- “I don’t have time.” Bullshit. You have time—you’re just wasting it on your phone, couch, or coming up with excuses why you can’t. (Very rarely do people have an actual excuse)
- “I’m too tired.” That’s not an excuse; that’s poor planning and just being lazy.
- “I don’t know where to start.” Yes you do; you’re just too scared or lazy to start doing it.
Excuses are nothing more than permission slips to stay stuck. And guess what? The more you use them, the easier it gets to settle for mediocrity.
Are you really okay with being average? Are you fine with waking up every day feeling weak, tired, and unmotivated? Because that’s where excuses lead.
Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes
If you keep doing what you’re doing right now, what’s going to be different in a month? A year? Five years? If nothing changes, you’ll wake up in the same place—or worse, you’ll fall even further behind.
You can’t wait for motivation to show up or for life to magically make it easier. It won’t. Real change happens when you decide to stop letting excuses control your life and start doing the work—even when it’s inconvenient or hard.
Is This What You Want for Your Life?
Take a moment to think about it. Are you proud of how you’re showing up for yourself? Are you stronger, healthier, and more confident than you were last year? Or are you stuck in the same place, making the same excuses? If you said yes, nice work keep it up!
- Are you going to keep making excuses, or are you going to make progress?
- Are you going to keep waiting for “someday,” or are you going to start today?
Stop Complaining. Start Acting
Here’s the deal: life doesn’t give you what you wish for. It gives you what you work for. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing up, even when it’s hard.
It’s one hour a day. You owe it to yourself to find that time, to stop making excuses, and to start putting in the effort. You’ll never regret the work you put in, but you will regret staying stuck because you were too busy, tired, or afraid to start.
It’s your life. Make the choice to make it better—starting now.
If this made you a little uncomfortable then take a look in the mirror, pick your boots up, and walk through the door. (Preferably don’t wear boots here but you get the point.)
